Rules

All rules must be abided by or membership will be terminated. As members of this guild, you will be expected to maintain high standards of behavior regarding your online activities both on and off Battlenet. To be in this guild, you must be at LEAST 16 years of age. Excessive profanity and gloating is prohibited.

1 - Paladin

This is a Paladin only Guild. There are plenty of other guilds that accept the other character classes, but our niche is the Paladin. Though it is ok to use other character classes, for guild play those characters will not be given official status within the guild. Non-Paladin characters may not use the HKW tag. Also you cannot maintain any non-Paladin class characters in any other D2 guild. (See rule #7)

Only one guild position, the Court Magus, will be allowed as a non-paladin. This will be only a single individual at any time.

2 - Conduct

As stated above, members of this guild are expected to maintain high standards of behavior. All members must deal fairly in all trades, maintain honesty at all times, treat others-whether guild members or outsiders-with respect, and in all other ways strive to maintain a Paladin's ideals.

3 - No Cheating of any sort!

This includes using any program that has "hacked" the Diablo II program and allows for illegal casting of spells, invulnerability, or "ghost" modes. Cheating also includes using invalid spells or weapons not included with the original Diablo II game disks or otherwise released by Blizzard. This additionally includes use of any illegal "advantage" (such as duping) by maliciously exploiting the game code.

4 - No Pking

All members will NEVER attack anyone without provocation. You may only defend yourself from attack, and you may defend any other members of the HKW, but it is recommended that you simply leave any game in which there is a PKer. NO EXCEPTIONS.

5 - Dueling

Dueling is perfectly fine as long as you do it with people who are approximately of the same skill and character levels as yourself. That means no dueling of people 6 or more levels lower or higher than yourself. Make sure the parties involved have laid out the ground rules before dueling. ALWAYS return anything that might have been left behind by your dead foe unless alternate arrangements were agreed on beforehand.

6 - Meetings

You must attend regularly arranged meetings which will fall as scheduled by the guild leadership usually around once a month. They do not take long and are vital to the organization and running of a successful Guild. An absence of 2 consecutive meetings will result in dismissal, no excuses. If something comes up, try to notify the council member in charge of attendance or one of the other Commanders BEFORE the meeting. It takes all of 5 minutes.

Meetings will be held approximately once a month on Sundays at 3:00PM Pacific Time. This schedule may be revised by the Captain and Commanders as needed.

7 - Sole Guild

This must be the ONLY guild you belong to for Diablo II. Meaning, you belong to no other guild as long as you are a member of the HKW. This goes for separate character classes as well. If you are a member of a Quake/Quake II/SC/etc guild, that is perfectly fine and we would encourage everyone to join guild/clans of OTHER games as long as the other guild activities don't preclude you from remaining active in the HKW.

8 - Commanders

In the overall scheme of things it is difficult to run a guild by oneself, so the guild will be lead by the Captain and 5 Commanders, who will be the voting members of the High Council and control and run the Guild. The Council will vote in new members, and vote out old ones if need be. The Council will oversee all diplomatic relations with other guilds. No formal qualifications are required to become a Commander, but the utmost standards and dedication will be of great importance in the selection criteria.

9 - Council Procedures

Commanders receive 1 vote each and the Captain's vote counts as 2 votes.

Changing of any rules requires 5 of 7 votes.

A majority vote, 4 of 7, is required by the Council to upgrade or downgrade the rank of a member; with a 5 of 7 vote required to upgrade a Knight to a Seraphim, and a unanimous vote to downgrade a Seraphim to a Knight.

A vote of 5 of 7 is required to vote to ally with another guild. Likewise a vote of 5 out of 7 is required to make another guild an enemy.

In the event that a guild leader is absent for a reasonable period, as determined by the rest of the Council, he or she will forfeit his or her right to vote on guild issues for the duration of his or her absence. In such an event, the voting requirements to decide on guild issues will be adjusted to reflect the absence of that leader.

Council voting may proceed along the majority lines stated above without interruption despite missing Council members so long as a quorum of at least 4 of the 6 guild leaders are present. If only 2 or 3 guild leaders are present voting may proceed only if unanimous decisions are reached. At no time will a single guild leader act on behalf of the entire High Council.

10 - Miscellaneous

A maximum of 50 members will be in the HKW at any one time.

All members will have a rank (See ranking section), and according to that rank will receive and follow orders from higher ranking members.

Members are strongly encouraged to post actively on the forum and to post items they have for trade onto the trade forum and keep the item for at least 24 hours after the post, to give time for other members to respond.

Any enemies of the HKW's allies are also our enemies. However all allies of the HKW's allies are not necessarily our allies.

Guild item collections will be only for member use. Each collection will be run by a volunteer as authorized by the Commanders and Captain with rules determined by the council and that volunteer.
